The Sage & Cream Bouquet Study
Why I keep asking florists for sage when every mood board says blush — a small study in green-forward bouquets.

Styled shoots are where I test ideas before I ask a real couple to trust me with them. This one was an answer to a question three clients asked me last autumn: can a dinner feel like a greenhouse without feeling like a wedding showroom?
We set the table on the packing aisle of a working greenhouse — tomato vines still on the benches overhead, potting soil swept to the edges, the smell of damp earth and geranium the whole night. No draping, no uplighting, no furniture the greenhouse didn’t already own except the table itself.
The rules I gave Salt Marsh Flowers: nothing out of season, nothing dyed, and the garland stays below eye level. Grapevine, seeded eucalyptus, coffee-colored dahlias at the end of their run, and tapers from Tallow & Wick in every size they had. Letterpress Lane lettered the place cards by hand, onto paper stock so soft the ink sat down into it.
What I learned, and now bring to real dinners: greenhouse light does the styling for you. Two hours before sunset, the glass turns everything the color of weak tea and every photograph looks like a memory. All you have to do is not overbuild.
